Joyfold?

So do you know what a joyfold card is? Great if you do come and join in the fun at Penny's Paper Crafty, if you don't come on over and get the link to the Split Coast Stampers tutorial. I have to say it took me a while to get my head round it then by the third effort I had it firmly in my head and now I could make a joyfold card for any occasion!
We have two great sponsors this week - they are:

For my card I have used an image from Sassy Studio Design, this is Glinda and she is from the Wizard of Oz collection, what a fabulous collection that is too!

I used a selection of black and white papers and card to make the card some are from Paper Cellar and the others are from my stash. I cut the corners using a Spellbinders die and I used bright silver on one side and shiney black on the other, all of which have red hearts. The rose was white and I coloured it with a Promarker, crimson to match Glinda's lovely gown, she is also coloured with Promarkers.

This is what the card looks like open!

I hope you can come over to Penny's and join us for this challenge - maybe you'll learn a new technique!
I hope to see you there and in the meantime thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Tuesday Again (I thought it was Monday!)

Tuesday today and going back to work so my mind tells me its Monday!

Today sees another Coloru Challenge over at the Outlawz and today it is my turn to host and post!

For my inspirational picture I chose a phot I took in a gorgeous little moutain village in Spain, they always look so fresh and clean!

For my card I have used an Elisabeth Bell image that is on a CD of Elisabeth Bell designs that was on Create and Craft and as I love her work it was a must have!

I teamed her up with some Nit Wits Papers and some lushe organza ribbon, a nice Prisma flower and a pretty birthday ticket from Crafty Sentiments finished it off.

I coloured this adorable image with Promarkers - isn't she sweet!

I hope you will hop over to the Outlawz and join our challenge this week, I'd love to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Healing the Dragon!

Today sees the latest challenge over at Penny's Paper Crafty.  The theme is 'Circles'.
We have two sponsors this week

For my card I have used an image from The Paper Shelter - Healing the Dragon. I think its a fabulous image but lots of colouring and is an image that you need to allow plenty of time to colour!

For my background I used up some of my scraps! As the them is circles I cut lots of circles from different scraps of paper and glued them onto a plain cream card, I just added the image and a little circle for the sentiment!

I coloured the image with Promarkers and edged it with some heat embossed gold.

I hope you will join us over at Penny's for this latest challenge, I'd love to see you there!
Thanks for stopping by I appreciate your visit and hope to see you again soon!

Tuesday means the Colour Challenge at the Outlawz and this weeks picture was chosen by Ursula

So for my card this is what I came up with

I jus.t so love this cute little birdie from Doodle Pantry, I matted the pretty pink Nit Wits paper onto some yellow card, added some lace flowers that I coloured with Promarkers then added some bling to the centres, the sentiment is from Craft Sentiments and I think they are just so cute!

This is what the little birdie looks like, coloured with Promarkers and just so sweet, every time I see this image it makes me smile!

Well I hope to see you all over at the Outlawz for this latest challenge, come on over and check out the lovely makes from the DT - you may even decide to stay awhile.

Sassy Graduation!

If you belong to the SSD group over at PCP you will know that Jackie Randolph has started a progressive freebie and this is the first image

In the UK we don't do much for graduation but I do know that any of the grads this year will need lots of luck to get a job!

I used a template from an Anna Marie Designs CD, I have 5 of them and always forget about them! So I cut the base card from some cream card using the template, I then cut the horseshoe from the template from some satin silver card, I backed it with some glittered black cut my sentiment and added the brads them mounted the whole thing onto the card. The flowers are punched and I have added some bling to the centres

I coloured the image with Promarkers she is definitely a sassy lady!

I will also be entering her in to the Crafting Cafe Challenge which is Lady Luck!
Hope to see you soon!

So for the new challenge we have some wonderful inspiration for you from these incredibly creative people!

This week challenge is: Anything Goes, everyones favourite!

My card this week was made for our apprentice who has left to have a baby.

I made an 8 x 8 card so everyone in the office could sign it. I cut the card from some white card the layered up with some sparkly blue topped with cerise. I added some lace and layered up with some Lucy Cromwell paper that has gorgeous glittery flowers and butterflies on. Some flourishes and some cute bows for finishing touches.

The image was a freebie last weekend from Mo Manning and is just gorgeous and also very appropriate for this card!

This is a close up of this darling image! The sentiment was printed out and cut to shape with a corner punch then inked with shades of pink.

Well thats my card and I hope you will come over to Eclectic Ellapu and join us this  week - remember you can enter any craft project we love to see all your creations!

I printed the card with a peachy coloured Raspberry Road paper then cut out my card. I have added some Spellbinders lace dies cut from some pearly peach card and some orange gems the big flower is from Jak Heath, she gave them away on her blog and they are quite spectacular, thanks Jak!

My image is from Stamp Art Design who is one of our sponsors this week.

Just for a Change

I've made a tag!

Not something I do very often and I don't know why as I use all the tags I make for special gifts and they are always well received.

I wanted to enter the Lacy Sunshine challenge this week and emailed Heather for the gorgeous freebie and it's one of those images that you have to colour! So without futher ado this is my tag -

I cut the tag out on the Cricut from some bright blue pearlised card. I added a Cheery Lyn doily and the cute image. The word is also cut on the Cricut. The cord is made from some woven voile ribbon and I used some flourishes and a handmade flower to finish off.

This is a close up of the darling image which I coloured with Promarkers.

I will be entering this into the Lacy Sunshine Challenge this week - the theme is Don't be Square!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll visit again soon!

Let's have a Disney Day!

It is Tuesday and that means the Color Challenge over at the Outlawz. This weeks inspirational picture and twist was chosen by Guylou:

Well with a Disney picture like that I couldn't do anything else really could !?

The whole thing was made using my Cricut. I started out with a base card of shiney royal blue, Mickey was made using the Mickey Mouse and Friends cartridge (I made Mickies, Minnies, Donalds, Goofys by the bucket load!)

Such a fun character to make and so easy on the Cricut. The stars were also cut from a Cricut cartridge (Can't remember which one, sorry.) I downloaded the Craftroom software and set some time aside to play and boy did I play - I loved the fact that I could cut different sizes of stars all on the same sheet without having to reload and change sizes, etc.

I hope you like my friend Mickey and I hope you will join us over at the Outlawz for this challenge and while you're there why not check out some of the other challenges too!

Hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Sassy Dorothy!

I won another sassy image in the launch of the Wizard of Oz over at Sassy Studio Design, this time I got to choose so I got Dorothy.
I finally got to colour her up - I was making DT cards all weekend but squeezed in one for me!

I teamed her up with some delish Lucy Cromwell paper and added some lace and ribbon to bring her colours out. I added a few flowers too!!

I coloured her using Promarkers and what a sassy Dorothy she is (Judy Garland never looked like that!!!).

Thanks for stopping by I hope to see you again soon!

I will enter this into the Sassy Studio Design challenge where the challenge this week is add flowers!

Why Does it Feel Like it Should be Tuesday?

I love Bank Holidays but they mess with my timeclock big time! I went to work yesterday and was really miffed when someone pointed out it was Tuesday, I had been planning my weeks work and suddenly I lost a day!
Sooooo today is Wednesday and that means there's a new challenge started at Penny's Paper Crafty and this week the them is

Die Cuts or Punches

This week our sponsors ar Fred She Said and Digi Darla.

For my card I used an image from Fred She Said

The image is called marigolds and I love it, the beautiful butterfly comes as a seperate image with the set, just fabulous! I coloured it with Promarkers and the lush paper is from the Desert Blooms paper stack. I added some delicate lace and some soft gold die cut corners and the birthday ticket also in soft gold and I think it makes a very gentle card!

I hope to see you over at Penny's this week to join in the fun - there are some great prizes to win, so what are you waiting for!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

First Tuesday of the Month......

Means a new challenge has started at Nana Vic's over at Lady Annes Challenges. Nana Vic draws the most adorable images and you really should check out her shop here.
My card features a really cute image

I bet we all had a best friend that we vowed we would be friends forever!

I coloured the image with Promarkers and inked around the edge of the die cut with some Versa Color in Burgundy. I glossed up the balloons with some glossy accent. The background paper is from Paper Cellar. I've added some lace and butterflies from my stash along with a memory Box die cut, some bows, some bling and a pleated flower!

Hope to see you over at Lady Annes for the latest challenge from Nana Vic and remember there's a $10 or $12 prize up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon!

Morning All....

The suns still shining here in the north UK but sadly I have to go to work and will miss it - boo hoo!!
Tuesday again and that means its the Color Challenge at the Outlawz. Todays inspirational picture and colours were chosen by Penny

I'm sure everyone has a wedding card to make or maybe an anniversary - aren't these just the best colours for either of those and lace just adds to the lushness!

I got my Cricut out and had a play, something I've not done for a long time. I am a bit slow on the uptake and have only just downloaded the craftroom software and realised that I could link my Cricut to my laptop so I had to play when I found out!

This is what I came up with:

The hearts don't show too well but the are layed with black and silver as is the sentiment.

Very simple but I thought quite effective; hope you will pop over to the Outlawz and check out this weeks challenge and join in the fun - hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Lazy Sunday!

Well today I'm having a lazy Sunday! Normally I'm running round trying to catch up on all the housework I've not done and cooking for the week, this week it's a Bank Holiday weekend and I'm off tomorrow as well, so minimal work today it has been playtime!
I had meant to make some card for DT projects but then I found a photo frame that I bought in a cheap shop ages ago to alter and never got around to it - it started out as a plain pine for a 7" x 5" photo.

Here it is now:

I have used various techniques that I have learnt along the way, I firstly covered it in faux metal. I then cut some corners using a Spellbinder die from some white card and coated with some pewter embossing powder; if you build it up you end up with a faux metal finish.

The bottom buckle is created using the same method

I covered some paper flowers with marcasite embossing powder and used them for detail.
The chain is from some delish vintage reels I found in the Range and to finish it off I added some pearls.

I love to have time for getting really mucky and creating something lovely from something that is either ugly or would be thrown out.

Hope you like my frame, normal service will resume soon, I will be back next with a card or two!
Happy Sunday and thanks for stopping by I appreciate your visit!

Sunday and Still Another Day Off!

I  love Bank Holidays! It's Sunday and I've still got another day off before going back to work - yeehah!!

We have a new challenge starting over at Eclectic Ellapu, this week it's the Pink Team's turn to host and the theme this week is, yay, wait for it, drum roll:
Anything Goes

For my card I have used an image from The Paper Shelter that I love! She's called Celia and looks so relaxed.

I coloured her with Promarkersand used the backing paper that came with the image

I used some glimmery brown card to layer with, added some flowersthat I inked to match and some lovely lace.

I hope you'll all come over to Eclectic Ellapu and join in the fun! Can't wait to see all the lovely entries - so see you there!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

I would like to enter this into http://thepapershelter.blogspot.co.uk/ where the theme is music maestro.

The new challenge over at Penny's Paper Crafty has a theme of:

Animals

Our sponsors this week are Digi Stamp Characters
and Bugaboo

For my card I used a cute image from Digi Stamp Characters

I coloured the image with Promarkers. I used some lush paper from a Desert Blooms pack with some embossed pearl green card. I used some lace through the middle to seperate the two, then I added a stamp that I have had forever, lol, some polka dot green grossgrain ribbon with a pink centre stone and some sweet pink sparkly butterflies.
