It's Nearly Here!

Yep 2016 is just around the corner - I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year and the coming year brings you Health, Wealth and Happiness!
This cute digi was a gift from Gerda Steiner = she is the sweetest person and pops up in my emails every now and then with a lovely digi for her subscribers to download!

I found a template for a wine bottle card and this is what I made!

Now that is such a cute start to the New Year! I coloured the digi with Promarkers and dut the neck label from some gold paper and added the sentiment cut with a Tattered Lace die.

If you're not a subscriber to Gerda's newsletter pop over here and sign up!

Miss Daisy Stamps!

I got a message out of the blue a couple of days ago from Kathryne (Formerly Stamp Art Design) who used to be one of the Whimsy Digi Artists, when Whimsy stopped doing digi stamps the very talented Kathryne was lost to us - until now!!
She has opened her own store - Miss Daisy Stamps - where you can find all her adorable images!

This wonderfully happy snowman was free in the store and I just had to play with it!

I coloured him up with Promarkers and gave him a little glitter! He is layered onto a snowflake vellum layered onto a matching blue, the sentiment is a Spellbinders die cut and the snowflake I cut twice from blue and white glitter card then finished with a pearl heart. Doesn't her just make the prettiest Thank You card!

You can also visit her on Facebook Here, so why not pop over and say Welcome Back!!

A Very Late Christmas Post!!

I should have posted this before Christmas but got so carried away with all the preparations for the festivities blogging was the last thing I thought of!

This adorable little Santa is the image from Gerda Steiner for the December Progressive challenge, I coloured him with Promarkers and used some gorgeous papers from a pad I found in Lidl that has some gorgeous Christmas paper sets in it!
I cut out a twisted easel card using a shaped die and followed the shape right through with the different layers, the sentiment is a die cut from Crafters Companion.

I hope your Christmas was peaceful and filled with joy and laughter!

So if you've not found her yet - go visit Gerda here.

Yes it won't be long now and I bet everyone is busy getting their holiday cards made and mailed out to friends and relatives. At Dragonfly Dreams we would love to see all your holiday cards either Christmas or Hanukkah! Our Lovely sponsor this month is Fred She Said and  we got to play with some of her beautiful images, here's what I made using some of the coloured images

These are such fabulous images to work with - the top one is called Christmas Roses and I added it straight to the card and used one of the smaller images from the set for the corners, I used some glitter and liquid pearls from Trimcraft to pick out some detail, the sentiment is die cut.
The lower one is called Naughty or Nice Elf and I used a label die set to cut out the digi and the gold glitter mount. I added a nice bow and die cut the sentiment.
I hope we see you over at Dragonfly Dreams for this month's challenge, we love to be inspired by your beautiful work!

Good Morning! A little late with my post as my scheduling has gone to pot!

The words were cut from the same pink glitter card as the balloons using an only words die from Crafters Companion (it is actually Happy New Year but I just used the Happy word!).The touch of sparkle on the image is from a Trimcraft glitter glue, they have glitter and pearls in their new range and they are fab!

Pumpkins!

I have had a pumpkin day today! It is definitely that time of year and the weather here in UK is definitely autumnal (or even cold!!). So I have been colouring up pumpkins today getting ready for the real autumn! This image was drawn by the very talented Christina Hors who is one of the DT at the Outlawz, you will find her blog with details of the digi here.
I printed out the image 3 times and layered the pumpkins to add some depth, coloured with Promarkers. I used some lovely green Kanban card for the background and added some ribbons and twines. I used the wooden word 'family' as this group looks like a family to me! The base card is kraft.

I hope you like my interpretation of this digi! Please call over to Christina's blog to see how she made it and her beautiful colouring too!

See you all again soon!

A Little Treasure

We have a new Colour Challenge at the Outlawz! I chose the palette for this week and decided we should have an anything goes!

Here's the palette, (I took this picture in the grounds of a stately home, the colours are so classic!)

Our sponsor this month is the lovely All Dressed Up and I just love this image called Little Treasures!
I decided I would use it to upcycle a cheese box, this is how it came out

I used some Tatty Ted papers to line the box and added some sweet lace to the top. The outside papers are also from my stash, the pearl trim is from Fantastic Ribbons and was the perfect finish!

I hope you like my upcycling and will pop over and join us at the colour challenge this week!

Be Inspired at the Outlawz Colour Challenge

This week we start a new month at the Outlawz and the first challenge for the Colour team was chosen by Susan and it is an inspirational challenge

Now who wouldn't be inspired by that!!!

Our sponsor this month is All Dressed Up

For my card I used an image from ADU called 'Looking Gorgeous'

I coloured her with Promarkers/Copics and then used some lovely tropical paper sent to me by a lovely lady as a gift for the first element of the frame, the square frame is cut from some Coredination by Crafters Companion. I also used the same card to cut the  elements for the corner flourish, for that I used some dies from Tattered Lace, Spellbinders and the large flower was a freebie with a magazine!

I took my inspiration from the hot tropical colours - what will inspire you to make a project and join us this week?

Looking forward to seeing lots of wonderful projects this week!

Eclectic Ellapu Has Anything Goes for September!

Yes its everybody's favourite "Anything Goes!"

For my card I used an image from Emerald Faeries - I am in love with these cute, cute, happy faeries and when I have time I have more to colour up and will think of something to make with them, they are just too gorgeous! (Anyone would think I liked them!!!)

I coloured the scene up using my Promarkers and cut an aperture from the lovely paper from the Bohemian Collection by Trimcraft. I had to glitter her wings and the dragonfly, no self respecting fairy can live without glitter! I used some pink and blue gems to outline the image and added a nce bow (this is another of my new loves, they call them parcel bows and are made on a bow maker!).

Do come over and play with us at Eclectic Ellapu this month we would love to see your projects!

If you would like to check out the Emerald Faeries you can find them here.

Karleigh Sue's Birthday Bash!

Today is Cheri Lyn's Birthday and she is having a party on FB! I was lucky enough to get one of the freebies and I thought I'd colour it up and put it on a card!

Coloured with mostly Copics, I cut her out and used some green background paper layered onto green card. The sentiment was all mine and printed in a nice cerise ink. The bow was created with my bowmaker (I love that gadget!) and worked with the sentiment.

OK that's all for now - I will enter this into the Karleigh Sue Challenge for August!

Colours for Dramatic Effects!

This weeks Colour Challenge at the Outlawz was chosen by Ina and what a challenge it is!

What dramatic colours - I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to use the Kimono collection I bought from Crafters Companion and have never got round to using!

I used the hibiscus embossing folder for the background and layered it onto red ( I coloured the edges in the same red I used on the image) then onto a grey card. I stamped and coloured the image then masked it out and inked the background area with some grey ink. I used a glaze pen on the red areas of the image to give some shine.

I finished it off with some red pearls, some 2mm and some 4mm.

Come on over to the Colour Challenge and join us with these great colours!

50th Birthday!

It was my daughter in law's 50th birthday this week, She's not an arty person so there's no point making her a card with a lovely coloured image on and I thought long and hard what to make her. I ordered the concertina card die from Crafters Companion so I thought maybe a concertina card with pictures of her daughter might go down well - so this is what I made

I cut out the panels in some white Centura Pearl card then cut them again using some lovely Bo Bunny paper that came free with Cardmaking & Papercraft this month! I used one of the companion dies for the main die to cut out the photos and stamped some sentiments on some of the panels and added a nice glitzy 50 to the front! Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I used some pearl hearts from Meiflower and a variety of gems to add some bling plus some die cut butterflies.

I hope you like my 'special' 50th card and thanks for your visit!

Take it Easy!

This is the latest digi from Gerda Steiner for the progressive challenge and I thought it was so cute and perfect for a get well card!
I printed the image directly onto the card and coloured it up, I then masked it and added the background. I watched a tutorial by Jess from Gerda's design team about Bokeh and where as I didn't have the colours she had I improvised with some watercolour inks and the very few distress inks I have plus a pearly white ink pad. Well for a first attempt I think it turned out quite well!

So why not join in the challenge and you could be getting an adorable digi like this each month!

Ahoy There!

Another post from me - my posts are like buses; you wait for ages and then four come along at the same time!

So this time my card is a birthday card for a friend, his 5 year old is totally into pirates so I had to make a pirate card for Daddy!

I used an image from Mo Manning, the paper on the front is from a gorgeous set from Michele Roo, the sand at the bottom is from another set that I'm sad to say I don't know who's it is. Coloured with Promarkers, the bunting and starfish are from a magazine freebie!

The card is an 8 x 8 cut from basic white card. OK that's me for today honest! Thanks for looking.

Wings!

Dragonfly Dreams has a new challenge starting and the challenge is to have wings in your project!

Our sponsor this month is the very lovely All Dressed Up.

For my project I used the Flower Fairy, I think she is just so lovely!

I cut her out using a nice lacy edged die and backed it with some rose pink glitter card, layered with some rose paper and glitter card, some pretty butterflies down the side and a sweet sentiment from Hunkydory finish if off!

Come over to Dragonfly Dreams and show us your projects with wings - we'd love to see them!

Outlawz Progressive Challenge

The August challenge has started at the Outlawz and this month we have an adorable image from Make It Crafty called Wishful Asha.

I used this cutie to make an 18th birthday card for my 'niece' (she adopted me when she was 13!)

I coloured the image up using Promarkers and Copics, I also added some gloss to her headband and some glitter to the flower but they don't show!

I used a selection of butterflies, some lace, ribbon, pearl flowers and a bit of sparkle!

If you would like to join us please come over to the Outlawz and get signed up for the Progressive challenge then you too could be making something gorgeous using this sweet digi!

Let's Go to the Seaside!

The new challenge at Eclectic Ellapu is looking at the seaside - we want to see your projects by the sea!
I had a bit of a play with this one - I had a great stamp of Beach Huts from Just Inklined that was perfect for this challenge but I wanted to frame it. I tried a couple of things that just didn't work then I masked up the card and added some gesso roughly round the frame area and while it was still wet I threw some blue glitter at it, a bit bizarre but it worked I think!

I have to say I like the effect and will use it again! I added some shells and a wooden word - I so love those and can't find any more of them, boo hoo!

The digi is coloured with my usual Promarkers!

So come on over to Eclectic Ellapu and join us this month - show us your sea side projects!

Anything but a Card!

We have a new challenge over at the Outlawz Colour Challenge this week with the most luscious colour palette set by our lovely Ursula and this week it is anything but a card!

Our sponsor this month is the super store for digis, Stitchy Bear - you can find images for any occasion in their store and for all levels of crafting too! For this project I used the cute image Just Chilling and I made a beach hut, this can be used as a decoration or as a gift box, I made the template and added a lip to the roof to allow it to be taken off. If anyone is interested I can post the template for this here, just let me know!

Well that is my offering for this great challenge I hope you like it!

Why not come over and join in the fun - you will also be in with a chance of winning some digis from Stitchy Bear too!
