Steampunk Sassy!

This month's Progressive Challenge over at SSD on Craft Planet has a wonderful steampunk sassy! I really had to think about the colours for this li'l lady and even took her on holiday with me to colour!
While I was away I got the most scumptious bundle of mulberry papers, all sorts of colours and styles and this blue was one of them

isn't it yummy? I added some hand torn dark grey metalised card that I embossed with an Xboss embossing board from the Chronology range. I added some dark grey chain and a little bling!

I coloured her with my usual Promarkers and used a little starlight gelly roller on her glasses.

I hope you like my version of this lovely sassy and why not jump over to Papercraft Planet and join in the fun!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Back From My Travels!

It's very bittersweet coming back from your travels - on the one hand you want to carry on and see more places but on the other hand it's lovely to be back in your own home!
Tuesday, back to work for me and a new Color Challenge at the Outlawz! This week's challenge was chosen by Roxann and what yummy colours!
So for my card I have used another of the fabulous images we had to play with from DS4J - isn't she beautiful

I used a base card in grey and layered it up with some lime green paper and shades of coral card, then the image that I also coloured the background in lime. My grey ribbon I used across the corners and to follow the star theme through I added some lovely rhinestone stars.

I coloured the image with Promarkers.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will find time to come over to the Outlawz and join us for this week's challenge - I'm hoping I'll see you there!

How Old Do You Feel?

Sometimes I feel ANCIENT!!! With that thought I decided that as it is my birthday this week the ideal choice for the new Eclectic Ellapu Pink challenge had to be:
Oldies Birthday
I would like to see your celebration of an oldies birthday! It doesn't have to be a card it can be any project that fits the theme!

For my card I used the wonderful image from Squigglefly 'the Old Sot'. I fell in love with this image the first time I saw it!

Now don't you think she looks so happy! The sentiment came with the image and is finished off inside the card:

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir markers for her hair, I used some paper from Paper Cellar for  the background and inside. I heat embossed the Happy Birthday with some chocolate embossing powder. The sentiment was printed onto white card then coloured and inked to age it - its as simple as that!

I hope you have enjoyed my card today and you will come over to Eclectic Ellapu amd join us in this celebration of an old f--ts Birthday!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

It's that C Word Again!

Yes I keep making them and it's still summer honest!
Penny's Paper Crafty has a new challenge starting and we would like to see you use your die cuts or punches.
We have two fab sponsors this week - The Paper Shelter and Crafty Sentiments.
I have use an image from the Paper Shelter and how cute is this:

I used the pre coloured image and just added some colour to the background, I love the fact that you get a choice in TPS digi sets and most come with background paper as well!
For my background paper I used an 8 x 8 sheet that I cut a section out of the middle its such an ideal background for this image! I used an oval die cutter and a scalloped oval die cutter for the image and the surround. I have been having a clear up and sort out in the craft room and lo and behold I found my old Sizlets cutter so I pulled out the dies and used the candy canes and holly leaves (that you can hardly see, lol).
Sorry the photo is so dark but you can just about see all of it!
I hope you will find time to join us over at Penny's this week - can't wait to see what you make!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

A Little Bit of Sparkle!

Well Tuesday's rolled round again and that means it's the Color Challenge at the Outlawz!

This week it was my turn to pick the colour palette and here's my picture:

I took this photo at a National Trust property and the peacocks were all around the place, this good looking fella looked as though he was putting on his display for me but I looked behind me and there was the female!

Our sponsor this month is DS4J and one of the images we were given to play with was made for this challenge!!

Now isn't he a beauty! I had some bright blue card, its got a nice satin finish to it, so thought I would use it to set the image off. I used an oval die cut for the turquoise and to cut out the peacock, a scalloped oval die cut from cream added a nice frame. I finished with some lovely cream lace.

I coloured him with Promarkers then added loads of glitter to his tail and a liberal sprinkle of gems!

I hope you like my version of this lovely digi but if you want to see some more interpretations call over to the Color Challenge and check out what the rest of the DT have made and if you would like this image you can find it here.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Otto!

Quick post today as I'm trying hard to get ahead before I go away on Thursday - yipppeeeee!

This is a cute little image from Gerda Steiner for her freebie challenge - he's called Otto the Octopus.

I coloured him with Promarkers and cut out using a scalloped circle die, I then inked the edge out to give it some depth. I found the base card in my stash and it couldn't have been more perfect! The sentiment is mine created with Word.

Hope you like my little friend and why not pop over to Gerda's blog and join in the fun!

Penny's Challenge

Another challenge has started over at Penny's Paper Crafty and this week's theme is:
Use ribbon or lace
For my card I have used a lovely image from one of our sponsors, Stamp Art Design it is called ' A Present for You' and you can find it here.

I saw a tutorial for making shaped easel cards on Lexies blog so thought this was the ideal image to give it a go!I used a scalloped oval die for the card that I cut from some sugar pink card. I used an oval of background paper from my stash and some wide cerise voile ribbon. I used some pretty lace to edge the scallops on the front. I added a tag and some bling to finish the effect!

I coloured my bear with Spectrums Noir markers and Promarkers. To give the fur effect I used a blender pen to blend and lift the colours.

I hope you will join us this week for this fun challenge and I can't wait to see what you make! Don't forget we have some great prizes from our lovely sponsors too!

Thanks  for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Color Challenge!

Tuesday, yay! It's the Color Challenge at the Outlawz and this week's inspirational picture and twist were chosen by Ursula:

What a lush colour combination and wonderful twist - I love polka dots!!

We are being sponsored by DS4J this month and I have used one of the lovely images they kindly gave us to play with:

I used a lovely pale yellow card as my base and added the red card that I cut the corners with a Martha Stewart punch. I them added some great spotty paper that is from a Christmas pack but has just the right colours in! The green polka dot paper that the lacey edges are cut from is from one of the Nitwits Collections.

I coloured the image with Promarkers. I never do dark hair or eyes but she could only have big brown eyes and dark hair, don't you think?

I hope you like my interpretation of this cute image and don't forget to pop over to DS4J's shop to check out their new releases.

See you at the Outlawz!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Art Deco!

We have a new challenge at Eclectic Ellapu and this week's theme from the PINK TEAM is
Art Deco
My first thought was " Oh NO!!!" but if you look up the definition of Art Deco it actually covers a huge area of art that we call Art Deco, Art Nouveau and modernism. 'Art Deco' was purely decorative art derived from one of the Post (First) War movements and included clothing, furniture, house decoration as well as pieces of art!
Some years ago I decided I wanted to decorate our bedroom in the style of Art Deco - it was very angular and stylised with a great deal of influence from Rennie Mackintosh and could have been classified as Art Nouveau BUT it also had fun elements that really stamped the Art Deco style firmly on it. So I've waffled enough on the art lesson and chose to use an image from a Debbie Moore CD for my project.

I printed out the image and mounted it onto some brown glitter card.  I also added some copper glitter to her dress and head dress and a little bling! I used some lush cream lace to frame the card and voila!

I do hope you will join us at Eclectic Ellapu and remember Art Deco is not that difficult! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

New Releases at Scrappers Delight!

We're having a blog hop to showcase the new releases at Scrappers Delight! Hop along the way and see what the design team have created with these lovely new releases!
I am using this little beauty:

I have also used elements from the Under the Sea collection:

I used some Flitter Glitter to make the seabed and the sea was made by sponging some Distress Inks and a touch of  Stickles. I used the large shell that the mermaid is on and the smaller shell cluster from the under the sea collection. The inside of the shell is painted with some mother of pearl paint and looks lovely IRL! I coloured her with Promarkers.
You should have arrived here from the lovely Kelly's and your next stop will be Leona to see her wonderful creation! If you did not arrive from Kelly's go back to the beginning so you don't miss a chance of the hidden digis along the way!

The new challenge has started at Penny's Paper Crafty and this week's theme is -
Dry Embossing

We have two wonderful sponsors this week Digi Darla and Bugaboo. For my card I have used Clyde from Bugaboo - I so love dragons, even kewt dragons!

I coloured him with Promarkers and teamed him up with some beige cloud paper and some metal effect embossing, I think it makes him into quite a masculine card!

Now pop over to Penny's and join in this easy peasy challenge - look forward to see your lovely creations!

One Small Gelato!

How many of you have heard of Penny Blossom? So that's what I thought, not many - well do yourself a favour and follow the link to check out this new kid on the block!

Christine from Penny Blossom gave this away as a freebie, wow!

Isn't she just fabulous! I have never coloured dark skin and to tell the truth have always been scared to try! I have seen some images that have been coloured for dark skin and they don't look so good and I would hate to produce something that was a parody of the skin colour I was trying to portray! So I had a little play around with colour blends and decided this was OK!

I coloured her with Promarkers and her hair with Spectrum Noir markers. I teamed her up with some Paper Cellar paper and some die cut lace (Spellbinders) I also used some paper lace for the top that I inked to match the orange in her top. Then I just added some bling and WOC orange roses!

So what do you think - did I crack the skin colour?

Sign up for the newsletter at Penny Blossom and when Christine has a freebie you will find out!  While you're there check out her shop and see the cool digis she has just waiting for you!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

August!

I can't believe its the first week of August, my, my, the year's flying by! Being Tuesday it can only be the Color Challenge at the Outlawz.

This week's inspirational picture and twist was chosen by Lindsay. What a gorgeous photo, wouldn't you just wish to be there!

This month we also have an exciting sponsor, DS4J and they very kindly gave us some of their beautiful digis to play with!

How cute is this little surfer! I coloured him with Promarkers and cut him out using the out of the box tecnique. I mounted him onto some dark purple pearl card that looks really light in the photo!. The background paper is also rust and dark purple on cream and it looks grey, lol!
When we were out and about we visited a town called Ormskirk and I found a craft shop. like you do, and they had a rack of Paper Cellar gems and bits so I got the little bitty purple hearts on the tag - the sentiment was hand written and heat embossed.

Isn't he just the cutest! I added a bit of gloss to his shades!

I hope you will come over and join us at the Color Challenge for this new challenge and don't forget one lucky entrant this month will get some lovely images from DS4J - so what are you waiting for!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will call again soon!

Summer Sunshine..........

Well mustn't grumble we have had a fair bit of sunshine this year even if it has chucked it down all day!
At least I was at home - I'm having a week of to get my house straight, it has got to the point of no return so drastic measures needed! Well I worked hard today and recovered the kitchen, one down four to go, lol!
I got this image coloured up last night and got it made up today - this was one of the July freebies - so cute!

I had a search through my digital papers file and came up with the perfect papers! They even had the shades and flip flops to go with, how cool is that! I should have made her a blond and I could have sent her to my DIL in time for their holiday - this will definitely be her for ten days!

I coloured her with Promarkers and made this one for the Dare to Be Sassy challenge over at Sassy Studio Design where the theme is holiday/travel.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will call again soon!

Altered Eclectics #2!!

Did you see all those fabulous projects that were entered into the challenge last month? There are some amazingly talented people out there and I'm priveleged to be on the DT and get to visit all you lovely peeps!

My project for this month started out as as this:

A very plain not so trendy mirror from Ikea!

I was blog surfing, like you do, and I came across a superb clock that had been made out of a bit of plywood and some Polyfilla, so decided to have a go!

I soaked some lace in the polyfilla then plastered the whole surface with polyfilla and set the lace around the edge into it. I used various stamps and flowers and shapes coated in polyfilla and added some pearls. I used some lovely pearlised powders to add some colour and sheen

the flowers were coated with a pink pearl powder, the leaves with green and the lace with pearl

I was pleased with the finished article although if I do another I will use lightweight Polyfilla!

I hope you will come over to Altered Eclectics and join in - anything that is not a card or scrap based project is eligible and we would love to see your beautiful projects!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!
